About Us:

The Westfield United Fund has been dedicated to strengthening our community by helping our most vulnerable neighbors for over 85 years. WUF supports 17 local agencies that provide social services to residents in Westfield and surrounding towns.  We’re seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Business Manager to join our team and help us maintain accurate financial records.

Job Description:

We are looking for a Part-Time Business Manager to handle day-to-day financial operations and support our non-profit’s accounting needs. The ideal candidate will have experience with QuickBooks Online and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles. This role offers flexible hours to accommodate your schedule.

Responsibilities:

Manage Financial Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.

Process Transactions: Record and categorize transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Reconcile Accounts: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.

Generate Reports: Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and budget vs. actual reports.

Support Financial Audits: Assist with financial audits and provide necessary documentation and reports.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations and non-profit accounting standards.

Communicate with Stakeholders: Work with other team members and stakeholders to support financial planning and analysis.

Record Receivables

Office Budget: Assist in the preparation of the annual office budget

Pay Bills

Qualifications:

Experience: Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably within a non-profit organization.

QuickBooks Online: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is essential.

Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.

Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Ethics: High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial information.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Non-Profit Experience: Familiarity with non-profit accounting principles and regulations.

Work Hours and Compensation:

- Hours: Flexible part-time hours, approximately 10 hours per month.

- Compensation: Position will be paid hourly commensurate with experience.
