Volunteer Opportunities at Moms Helping Moms
Warehouse Warriors - MHM relies heavily on volunteers to help in our warehouse. We have several regular warehouse volunteers who come in weekly and other times, we welcome groups of volunteers (Ie: corporate, school, church, teams, etc.). Duties can include sorting donations, repackaging loose diapers, unloading trucks, assembling equipment, etc.
Delivery Volunteers - During the pandemic we have been grateful to have multiple volunteers help deliver supplies to some partner agencies who could not get to us to pick up their items. These deliveries include contactless pick up of pre-packed orders of diapers and goods and delivering them to our partner agencies throughout New Jersey (contactless).
Gala Committee - Each year we rely on a committee of volunteers to plan and execute our annual Snow Ball Gala. Duties include planning the actual event from start to finish and several positions at the actual event.
Marathon Committee - In years past we hosted a team of runners to raise funds for us by running the NJ Marathon and Half Marathon. This was spearheaded by a volunteer for planning as well as day-of tasks. We are currently considering reactivating this fundraiser in 2021 as we will not be able to host our annual Gala.
Community Liaisons - MHM has several members of the surrounding communities who act as liaisons to our community donation drop sites in local businesses. Duties include communicating with the site owners and transporting the donations to the MHM warehouse.
Core Administrative and Warehouse Volunteers - We utilize a few core volunteers to carry out ongoing roles within the organization. These currently include a volunteer coordinator, bookkeeper, lead warehouse volunteers and a volunteer-group leader.
Event Helpers - During key fundraising events (i.e., Snow Ball Gala/Marathon) or community outreach events (Community Diaper Drives) we enlist a team of volunteers to help with various tasks on the day of the event.
Advisory Committees - MHM has a few advisory committees in place to support our board and staff, such as Finance, Development, and Management. Each consists of combination of volunteers, board members, and staff to serve as advisors
